Answers, at some length
How buying works when there is no checkout, what the driver collects, and the practical kitchen questions as well: induction bases, seal failures, what actually fits in a 1.8 litre box.
Four sections. Anything missing goes to support@syphrix.com, which a person reads between nine and six, Monday through Saturday.
Ordering
Where is the buy button?
There isn’t one, and that is deliberate rather than unfinished. Write to us with the items you want, the quantities, and the address the box is going to. That message is the order mechanism in its entirety — the site has no checkout to reach and no field anywhere that would accept a card number.
What you have sent is a question, not a purchase. See how ordering works for the sequence end to end.
How quickly does someone answer?
Same working day in most cases, one at the outside. The reply confirms which of your items are on the shelf, names a restock date for anything that is not, and gives a single total with carriage folded in. That number is fixed from the moment it is written.
Do I have to spend a certain amount?
No, because carriage never appears as a separate line. A €59.99 vacuum sealer travels on exactly the terms an €89.99 slicer does. Nothing unlocks at a threshold because nothing is withheld below one.
Can I add something after writing?
Until the box is handed to the courier, yes, at no cost — just reply in the same thread and a fresh total comes back. Once it is moving, your remedy is to turn it away on the doorstep, which also costs nothing.
Paying
Cash only. Really?
Really. There is no merchant account behind this business, no terminal in the van and no gateway on the site, so a card has nowhere to go at any point in the process. The same absence rules out transfers and payment links, which people sometimes offer as a compromise.
Treat it as a condition of buying here and decide about it before you write, rather than at the door.
Does the quote include tax?
It does. Spanish VAT sits inside the figure you are given, as does delivery, and nothing is added on top of it afterwards. Buying as a business? Mention it when you write and the invoice comes back with the tax shown as its own line. Invoicing is done by FLOFUM, S.L., CIF B75621250.
Will the driver have change?
Very little, so get as close to the figure as your notes allow. Deliveries outside the eurozone are converted before the box leaves and the local amount is written into your confirmation, so the sum you were quoted is the sum you count out on the step.
What paperwork do I end up with?
Two things. The courier leaves a receipt or has you sign a docket at the door, and an invoice follows by email against your order reference. Either one supports a return or a guarantee claim later, so keep whichever suits you.
Delivery and returns
Which countries do you reach?
All twenty-seven EU member states by street address, plus the Balearics. The Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla sit outside the EU customs union for VAT, which makes a single all-in figure impossible, so we do not quote for them. Timings are on the delivery page.
What if I am out when it arrives?
Two attempts on consecutive working days, then five working days waiting at the local depot where you can collect and pay in person. Still unclaimed after that and it travels back to us, with nothing charged for the failed trip.
How long have I got to change my mind?
A month from the day it lands, whether or not you have used the thing. Our error or a fault means we cover carriage in both directions; a simple change of heart means you buy the return label and the goods are refunded in full. The returns page has the detail.
The things themselves
Will a pan work on my induction hob?
If a magnet sticks firmly to the base, it will work. Everything in the pots and pans range has a ferrous tri-ply base and is induction-safe, but hob rings vary: a 22 cm pan on a 14 cm ring heats only in the middle. Tell us the ring sizes and we will say which diameters suit.
What does tri-ply actually mean?
Three bonded layers — stainless outside, aluminium in the middle, stainless again on the cooking face. The aluminium spreads heat sideways so the base does not develop a hot spot over the flame, and the sandwich resists the warping that makes a cheap thin pan rock on the hob. There is more in why a cheap pan warps.
How much longer does sealing actually keep things?
Chilled meat goes from two or three days to six or ten, hard cheese from a fortnight to a month or more, and freezer burn stops altogether. The limits, and the one category where sealing makes matters worse, are in this piece.
Is anything dishwasher safe?
The stainless cookware and the clip-lid boxes, yes. Wooden handles and wooden boards, no — the heat and the detergent open the grain and the handle works loose within a year. Slicer parts come apart for washing but the motor housing never goes near water.
What actually fits in a 1.8 litre box?
About a kilo of flour, or two portions of a stew with room to get the lid on, or a whole large loaf cut in half. Three of them stack inside a standard 35 cm cupboard shelf.
