A shop that only does kitchens
One shelf each for pans, knives, storage and small electrics. One tested version of each thing. A price that already includes getting it to you.
Why only kitchens
Because a shop that sells everything cannot have used any of it. We wanted to be able to answer the question people actually ask — will this pan work on my hob, will this box fit that shelf — and the only way to do that is to keep the range small enough that somebody here has cooked with all of it.
So the catalogue is four shelves and nothing else. No garden furniture, no bathroom storage, no seasonal category that appears in November. If it does not belong in a kitchen it is not here.
How something gets on the shelf
It goes on a hob, or in a drawer, or through a dishwasher twenty times. We look at the parts that fail rather than the parts that photograph: whether a base warps on a ring smaller than the pan, whether a handle rivet works loose, whether a clip lid still seals after a winter of being stacked.
Most of what we try does not make it. That is the point of trying it.
Why you pay at the door
Buying kitchen equipment you have not handled is a leap of faith, and asking for a card number up front makes it a bigger one. Paying the courier means the money moves after you have opened the box, not before. If what arrives is not what you expected, you hand it straight back and nothing has been spent.
It costs us more to run than a checkout would, and it is slower. We think it is worth it, because it puts the risk on the side of the transaction that can actually do something about it.
Where the prices come from
One figure, quoted in writing, with Spanish VAT and delivery already inside it. No threshold to reach for free shipping, because shipping is never charged separately. No surcharge for paying in cash. The number in your email is the number the driver counts.
Who we are
Syphrix is a trading name of FLOFUM, S.L., a company registered in Barcelona. The same company runs a small number of other single-subject shops, each stocked and written separately. Sharing the registered office keeps the overheads low; it does not mean a warehouse of unrelated stock with different names on the door.
